Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 3 lbs round steaks, cut into 3/4 inch cubes
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 3 medium onions, sliced
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 3 cups water
- 1/3 cup strong black coffee
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon marjoram
- 1/4 teaspoon oregano
Recipe
- 1 melt butter in deep pan, add cubed steak and brown on all sides.
- 2 add garlic and onion.
- 3 cook until the onions are soft but not brown.
- 4 remove the steak and onions from the pan.
- 5 blend flour with butter remaining in the pan.
- 6 add the water, coffee and seasonings.
- 7 stir until slightly thick.
- 8 return the meat and onions to the pan.
- 9 cover and bring to a boil.
- 10 reduce the heat and simmer 1 1/2 hours or until the meat is tender.
