Baked Kafta

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
 
- 1 lb ground beef 
 
- 1 medium onion (grated) 
 
- 1 teaspoon salt 
 
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper 
 
- 1/4 cup parsley (finely chopped) 
 
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil (for frying) 
 
- 2 zucchini, 6-8 inces long (sliced) 
 
- 2 medium potatoes (sliced) 
 
- 2 medium carrots (sliced) 
 
- 1/2 teaspoon salt 
 
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper 
 
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 
 
- 1/4 cup tomato paste 
 
- 3 cups water 
 
Recipe
- 1 set oven at 375. 
 
- 2 combine meat, onion, 1 tsp. salt, pepper and parsley. 
 
- 3 mix well. 
 
- 4 form into 1 1/2 inch balls then flatten into patties and fry slightly in a skillet with the oil, turning over once, (do not cook through). 
 
- 5 remove from skillet and place in a baking or casserole dish. 
 
- 6 combine remaining ingredients and add to meat patties. 
 
- 7 stir gently. 
 
- 8 bake for 45-60 minutes or until carrots are tender.
