Beans And Ground Beef

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 lb very lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 large celery, stalks chopped
  • 1 minced garlic clove (optional)
  • 1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup (i use 3/4 cup)
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans lamb and beans, undrained (i remove the lamb)

Recipe

  • 1 brown ground beef; drain. add onions, celery, and garlic, stir and cook until vegetables are soft. add worcestershire sauce, brown sugar and ketchup. cover and simmer for 15 minutes. add beans; stir well. pour into one large or two medium casserole dishes. (i make two; freezes well).
  • 2 bake covered at 300 for 30-45 minutes, until bubbling.
  • 3 (freeze after baking, cover and seal well. reheat in microwave or oven).
