Best Shepherd's Pie

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 6 large baking potatoes
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3/4 cup baby carrots, chopped
  • 3/4 cup frozen lima beans
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 (8 ounce) can corn, drained
  • 1 cup butter
  • 4 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 cup mild cheddar cheese

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375°f.
  • 2 peel potatoes, wash, cube and boil them until soft for mashing.
  • 3 mash potatoes and mix in butter, milk, cream, salt and pepper.
  • 4 cook ground beef, drain and add worcestershire sauce, simmer.
  • 5 saute all veggies, except the corn, in olive oil until slightly tender, but not cooked through.
  • 6 mix the sauteed veggies in with the ground beef, heap into casserole dish.
  • 7 layer the corn on top of the ground beef mixture in casserole dish.
  • 8 spoon and smooth out the mashed potatoes on top of the corn.
  • 9 bake for 15-20 minutes.
  • 10 top with cheddar cheese and broil until cheese is melted.
