Baked Stuffed Shells

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 (16 ounce) can tomatoes
  • 2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (12 ounce) package jumbo pasta shells, cooked
  • 1 1/2 lbs cream-style cottage cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 egg, beaten

Recipe

  • 1 in large skillet, brown ground beef and onion, cooking until onion is tender.
  • 2 add garlic, tomatoes, tomato sauce and seasonings.
  • 3 stir well and bring to a boil.
  • 4 simmer 15 minutes.
  • 5 combine cottage cheese, bread crumbs, 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, parsley and egg.
  • 6 spoon cheese mixture into shells.
  • 7 arrange shells cheese side up in 13x9" baking dish.
  • 8 pour tomato sauce over shells.
  • 9 cover with foil and bake at 375 deg for 30 min.
  • 10 remove cover; sprinkle with remaining parmesan cheese.
  • 11 continue bake 15 min.
  • 12 longer.
