Beef & Biscuit Casserole

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 1/4 lbs ground round
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 (7 1/2 ounce) can refrigerated biscuits, buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup diced green chilies or 1/4 cup green pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • salt & pepper

Recipe

  • 1 brown ground beef, onions, garlic & peppers; drain.
  • 2 stir in tomato sauce, chili powder, salt & pepper.
  • 3 simmer while preparing dough.
  • 4 separate biscuits and pull apart into 2 layers.
  • 5 press 10 biscuits into bottom of 8" or 9" square pan.
  • 6 combine 1/2 cup of cheese, sour cream & egg and mix well.
  • 7 stir in ground beef and spoon over biscuits.
  • 8 place remaining biscuits on top and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  • 9 bake @ 250f for 25 to 30 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
