Beef Stew

Total Time: 2 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 package lean stew meat
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • parsley
  • thyme
  • flour
  • oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • salt and pepper
  • potato, carrots,and celery

Recipe

  • 1 season flour with salt and pepper.
  • 2 season meat with salt and pepper.
  • 3 dredge meat in flour and brown in batches in 2 tsp.
  • 4 of hot oil, adding oil between batches if needed (do not over crowd.) place in bowl when finished.
  • 5 in the same pot add 1 tsp.
  • 6 oil and onion saute about 2 minutes and add garlic and tomatoe sauce.
  • 7 stir about 3 to 4 minutes.
  • 8 add meat to the mixture and add herbs.
  • 9 simmer about 1 1/2 hours.
  • 10 add vegetables last 30-45 minutes.
  • 11 season with salt and pepper if needed.
  • 12 serve over rice.
