Beef Stroganoff (in A Crock Pot)

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 ounces butter
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 lbs braising steak
  • 2 tablespoons seasoned flour
  • 1/2 pint beef stock
  • 4 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon mixed herbs
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 2 teaspoons french mustard
  • 1/4 pint single cream
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the crock pot on high for 20 minutes.
  • 2 heat the butter in a large pan and gently saute the onions until they begin to turn transparent.
  • 3 toss the braising steak in the seasoned flour and add to the onions.
  • 4 stir the mixture over the heat until the meat is lightly browned.
  • 5 stir in the remaining ingredients and bring to the boil.
  • 6 transfer to the crock pot and cook on high for 30 minutes.
  • 7 then switch to low for 6 - 10 hours.
  • 8 just before serving, stir well.
  • 9 swirl the cream on top of the stroganoff.
  • 10 garnish with chopped parsley.
