Beef And Pasta Pie

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 3/4 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 16 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated and divided
  • 4 ounces whole wheat fettuccine
  • 1/2 cup egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Recipe

  • 1 brown beef and onion in a skillet.
  • 2 stir in tomatoes, oregano, salt and pepper (to taste) and bring to a boil.
  • 3 simmer uncovered for 20 minutes. (stir occasionally.).
  • 4 remove from heat.
  • 5 add mozzarella and 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese and let stand for 10 minutes.
  • 6 cook fettucine.
  • 7 combine 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, egg whites, butter, parsley, and garlic powder.
  • 8 stir into the hot noodles.
  • 9 spoon onto tomato mixture.
  • 10 cover and cook on low for 15-20 minutes.
  • 11 let stand for 5 minutes.
