Barbecue Meatball Subs

Ingredients
- Servings: 8
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 8 submarine buns
- 1/2 cup shredded 2% mexican cheese blend (kraft)
Recipe
- 1 combine meatball ingredients and then form into small 1-inch meatballs. place on baking sheet covered with wax paper and bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes or until done.
- 2 in the meantime, combine the sauce ingredients in large pot and heat over medium-low heat. add meatballs to sauce once they come out of the oven. continue to cook on low for 30 minutes.
- 3 put four meatballs inside each sub bun and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
