Beef Stuffed French Loaf

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 loaf unsliced french bread (one pound)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cheddar cheese soup
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 1 celery rib, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 slices american cheese, halved

Recipe

  • 1 cut off top of bread.
  • 2 hollow out bottom of loaf, leaving 1/2 inch shell.
  • 3 cut removed bread into cubes, set aside.
  • 4 in a skillet, brown beef and onion, drain.
  • 5 add soup, green pepper, celery, worcestershire, salt, and pepper.
  • 6 cook and stir 3 to 4 minutes.
  • 7 stir in reserved bread cubes.
  • 8 spread beef mixture into bread shell, top with cheese slices.
  • 9 replace bread top.
  • 10 wrap loaf in foil and place on cookie sheet.
  • 11 bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  • 12 slice and serve.
