Barb's Anti-vegetarian Chili

Total Time: 3 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 3 hrs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (lean) or 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 cups tomato juice
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper or 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans chili hot beans
  • 1 (15 ounce) can red kidney beans
  • 1 (15 ounce) can black beans

Recipe

  • 1 brown beef and garlic together. drain.
  • 2 put all ingredients in a crock pot (or large pot on stove). note: add the bean juice from the chili hot beans, but not from the red kidney or black beans.
  • 3 cook on low all day (or if you're taking less time, start on hot, switch to low).
