Bacon Cheddar Dog Biscuits

Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 6 tablespoons margarine
- 6 tablespoons bacon fat
- 1 cup water, boiling
- 3/4 cup cornmeal
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules (optional)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese (or romano)
- 4 bacon pieces
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 165'c (325'f).
- 2 cook bacon until crisp. crumble into pieces.
- 3 in a large bow, combine rolled oats, margarine, bacon fat and boiling water. mix well and let stand for ten minutes.
- 4 stir in the sugar, cornmeal, milk, cheeses, bacon crumbles, egg and 2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules.
- 5 mix in the flour, one cup at a time until it becomes a firm dough.
- 6 knead dough on floured surface, mixing additional flour as needed to make a smooth and non-sticky dough.
- 7 roll out to 1/2" thickness and cut cookies with your favourite cookie cutter.
- 8 place on greased cookie sheet and bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until cookies become golden brown.
- 9 cool and serve.
