5 Ingredient German-style Beef Roast

- 3 lbs boneless beef rump roast
- 1 (12 ounce) can beer
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Recipe
- 1 trim any excess fat from the roast. place in a 4-quart dutch oven. in a bowl stir together beer and ketchup. pour over roast.
- 2 bake, covered, in a 325 degree f oven for 2 1/2 hours or until tender.
- 3 remove roast from dutch oven. cover meat; let stand while finishing sauce.
- 4 meanwhile, stir brown sugar and pepper into the sauce. bring sauce to boiling; reduce heat. simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes or until slightly thickened.
- 5 slice roast. skim fat from sauce and serve with the meat.
