Bistecca Alla Fiorentina

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 45 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 2 (1 1/3 lb) porterhouse steaks or 2 (1 1/3 lb) beef t-bone steaks, 1 inch thick
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil, divided
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh ground black pepper
  • 2 -3 lemon wedges

Recipe

  • 1 trim excess fat from steak.
  • 2 allow to stand at room temperature for 30-45 minutes before grilling.
  • 3 brush or spray both sides of steaks with 2 tablespoons of the olive oil.
  • 4 season with salt and pepper, pressing into meat.
  • 5 grill over direct high heat until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees f for medium rare, (8-10 minutes), turning once halfway through grilling time.
  • 6 remove from grill, squeeze the lemon wedges over the top, and drizzle with remaining olive oil.
  • 7 allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  • 8 enjoy.
