Asian Appetizer Meatballs With Hot N' Spicy Dipping Sauce

Ingredients
- 4 teaspoons mrs. dash seasoning mix (original blend)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 8 ounces water chestnuts
- 1/4 cup egg substitute or 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup dry sherry
- 1/3 cup chopped scallion (both parts)
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 4 teaspoons mrs. dash seasoning mix (original blend)
- 2 cups unsweetened pineapple juice
- 3/4 cup catsup
- 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 6 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 6 tablespoons dry sherry
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
Recipe
- 1 dipping sauce:.
- 2 combine all ingredients in a 1 qt saucepan.
- 3 bring to a boil; stir constantly until thickened, about 10 minutes.
- 4 cool slightly before serving.
- 5 meatballs:.
- 6 preheat oven to 350ºf.
- 7 drain and finely chop water chestnuts; finely chop green onions.
- 8 combine ground beef, water chestnuts, egg substitute or egg, sherry, green onions, mrsdash original blend, and ginger in large bowl; mix well.
- 9 shape into 32 meatballs, about 1" in diameter.
- 10 place meatballs on rack in broiler pan.
- 11 bake meatballs 15-20 minutes.
- 12 serve with dipping sauce which should be made while cooking the meatballs.
