Beer Sauced Meatballs

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 3/4 cup soft breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons catsup
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup beer
  • hot, cooked noodles

Recipe

  • 1 combine egg, bread crumbs, catsup, worcestershire sauce, chili powder, salt and meat in a bowl.
  • 2 mix well and shape into 1 inch meatballs.
  • 3 cook 1/2 the meatballs at a time in hot cooking oil until brown on all sides.
  • 4 remove meatballs from pan.
  • 5 reserve 2 tablespoons of the drippings.
  • 6 add onions to the drippings.
  • 7 stir-fry over medium-high heat until tender.
  • 8 stir in flour, salt and pepper to taste.
  • 9 stir in beer.
  • 10 cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
  • 11 return meatballs to pan.
  • 12 cover and simmer 10 minutes.
  • 13 serve over noodles.
