Barbecued Spareribs

Ingredients
- 4 lbs country-style spareribs (i always use beef ribs for this one)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 teaspoons dry mustard
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup catsup
- 1 cup water
Recipe
- 1 cut spareribs into serving pieces.
- 2 brown ribs on both sides in a skillet.
- 3 season with salt and pepper.
- 4 remove from skillet and place in a 4 qt roasting pan.
- 5 combine pepper, chili powder, celery seed, 1 tsp salt, brown sugar, vinegar, hot sauce, and worcestershire sauce in a saucepan.
- 6 bring to a boil.
- 7 cook for 5 min on low heat until well blended.
- 8 pour over ribs.
- 9 cover.
- 10 bake at 325* for 2 -2 1/2 hours or until tender.
- 11 remove cover.
- 12 increase temprature to 350*, bake until ribs are brown.
- 13 remove to a warm platter.
