Beef And Beans With Oaty Cheese Crumble

Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sauce
- 14 ounces baked beans
- salt & freshly ground black pepper
- 6 ounces all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 ounces porridge oats
- 2 ounces butter, cubed
- 2 1/2 ounces cheese, grated
- 1 pinch mustard powder
- salt & freshly ground black pepper
Recipe
- 1 dry-fry the beef and onion together in a medium saucepan for about 5 mins until browned.
- 2 add the tomato ketchup, brown sauce, baked beans and season with salt and pepper.
- 3 add about 2/3 cup boiling water, if necessary to give a moist but not too sloppy gravy.
- 4 bring to the boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
- 5 set the oven to 400°f.
- 6 to make the crumble: place the flour and oats into a mixing bowl, add the butter and rub it into the flour with your fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- 7 stir in the cheese, mustard and salt and pepper.
- 8 sprinkle the crumble over the beef and bake for 20 mins until golden.
