Beef & Beer Stew

Ingredients

- 1/3 cup salt lamb or 1/3 cup bacon, finely chopped
- 3 lbs beef stew meat
- 3 large onions, sliced
- 3 tablespoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon dried marjoram
- 2 (12 ounce) cans beer
- 1 cup water
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 4 large potatoes, cubed
- 6 carrots, thickly sliced
Recipe
- 1 render salt lamb or bacon in a large stew-pot.
- 2 add meat.
- 3 cook over medium high until browned.
- 4 remove meat.
- 5 reduce heat to medium.
- 6 add onions and cook until tender.
- 7 return meat to pot.
- 8 add seasonings, beer, water, tomato paste and worcestershire sauce. stir and cover.
- 9 simmer until beef is tender, about 1 â½ hours.
- 10 add vegetables, cover and simmer until done, about 45 minutes.
