Ann's Shopping Trip Beef Stew

Ingredients
- Servings: 8
- 2 1/2-3 lbs stew meat
- 1 (14 ounce) can tomatoes, crushed, undrained
- 1 (8 ounce) can mushrooms, sliced, undrained
- 1 cup soft breadcrumbs
- 3 tablespoons tapioca (3 tbsp. flour may be substituted)
- 1 (15 ounce) can green peas, undrained
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 4 carrots, cut in small pieces
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup burgundy wine
Recipe
- 1 in the bottom of a large casserole, spread the stew meat.
- 2 in the order listed above, add remaining ingredients.
- 3 cover and cook at 250ºf for 4 to 5 hours.
- 4 stir after 3 hours.
- 5 this can stay in the oven longer until needed, or may be reheated.
