Beef Paprika

Ingredients

- 1/4 cup shortening
- 2 lbs round steaks, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 cup sliced onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon salt (i skip this)
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 dash red cayenne pepper
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 cups hot, cooked broad egg noodles
Recipe
- 1 melt shortening in lg.
- 2 heavy pot.
- 3 add meat and onion.
- 4 cook until slightly browned.
- 5 stir in the garlic,ketchup,worc.
- 6 sauce,salt,paprika,dry mustard,and cayenne pepper.
- 7 add the 1 and 1/2 cups water and stir well.
- 8 cover and simmer for 2- 2 1/2 hours on low to med heat.
- 9 stir often.
- 10 when it is done, blend the flour with the 1/4 cup water and slowly add to the mixture.
- 11 stir for 1 min.
- 12 until thickened.
- 13 spoon over hot cooked noodles.
