Beef Paprika

Total Time: 2 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 2 lbs round steaks, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup sliced onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon salt (i skip this)
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 dash red cayenne pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 cups hot, cooked broad egg noodles

Recipe

  • 1 melt shortening in lg.
  • 2 heavy pot.
  • 3 add meat and onion.
  • 4 cook until slightly browned.
  • 5 stir in the garlic,ketchup,worc.
  • 6 sauce,salt,paprika,dry mustard,and cayenne pepper.
  • 7 add the 1 and 1/2 cups water and stir well.
  • 8 cover and simmer for 2- 2 1/2 hours on low to med heat.
  • 9 stir often.
  • 10 when it is done, blend the flour with the 1/4 cup water and slowly add to the mixture.
  • 11 stir for 1 min.
  • 12 until thickened.
  • 13 spoon over hot cooked noodles.
