Beef Steak Provencale

Total Time: 1 hr 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 3 teaspoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless beef round steak
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 cup pitted ripe olives
  • 6 medium carrots, cut in 1 inch pieces
  • 2 medium onions, cut into quarters

Recipe

  • 1 mix flour, salt, and pepper.
  • 2 pound into the steak on both sides.
  • 3 cut steak in 6 pieces.
  • 4 heat oil in 10 inch skillet.
  • 5 cook and brown beef for about 10 minutes.
  • 6 add wine, garlic, and water.
  • 7 heat to boiling.
  • 8 reduce heat, cover and simmer 1 hour.
  • 9 add olives, carrots, and onions.
  • 10 cover and simmer until beef and carrots are tender, about 30 minutes.
  • 11 serve with buttered noodles.
