Beef Stroganoff

Ingredients

- 1 lb beef tenderloin or 1 lb sirloin, cut into 1/2 inch strips
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 lbs mushrooms, sliced
- 1 medium onion, minced
- 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can beef broth
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 (12 ounce) package cooked egg noodles, extra wide
Recipe
- 1 melt butter over medium heat in medium sized skillet. add mushrooms and onions until soft, then remove from skillet and set aside in small bowl.
- 2 add meat to skillet. cook until light brown.
- 3 reserve 1/3 cup of beef broth. stir remaining broth into skillet. add ketchup, garlic, and salt, then stir.
- 4 cover skillet and simmer for approximately 15 minutes.
- 5 blend reserved broth and flour, then stir into skillet.
- 6 add mushrooms and onions. heat until boiling, stirring constantly.
- 7 boil and stir for 1 minute.
- 8 reduce heat, stir in sour cream.
- 9 heat and serve over cooked egg noodles.
