Beef Stroganoff

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb beef tenderloin or 1 lb sirloin, cut into 1/2 inch strips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 lbs mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 (12 ounce) package cooked egg noodles, extra wide

Recipe

  • 1 melt butter over medium heat in medium sized skillet. add mushrooms and onions until soft, then remove from skillet and set aside in small bowl.
  • 2 add meat to skillet. cook until light brown.
  • 3 reserve 1/3 cup of beef broth. stir remaining broth into skillet. add ketchup, garlic, and salt, then stir.
  • 4 cover skillet and simmer for approximately 15 minutes.
  • 5 blend reserved broth and flour, then stir into skillet.
  • 6 add mushrooms and onions. heat until boiling, stirring constantly.
  • 7 boil and stir for 1 minute.
  • 8 reduce heat, stir in sour cream.
  • 9 heat and serve over cooked egg noodles.
