Beef Stroganoff

Total Time: 38 mins Preparation Time: 8 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 lbs sirloin steaks, cut into shoestring strips 1/2 inch wide x 3 inches long and rolled in
  • flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 (4 ounce) can mushrooms, with liquid
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Recipe

  • 1 brown beef strips in butter.
  • 2 remove from skillet.
  • 3 drain mushrooms, reserving liquid, and saute in drippings in skillet.
  • 4 remove from skillet.
  • 5 into drippings stir 3 tbls flour and soup mix
  • 6 gradually add water and mushroom liquid, blending well and stirring until thickened.
  • 7 return meat and mushrooms to skillet, cover, and simmer, stirring from time to time, for about 20 minutes, or until meat is tender.
  • 8 blend in sour cream and serve over hot egg noodles or boiled potatoes.
