Beef And Vegetables In A Pita

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1/2 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 1/4 lbs fresh spinach, cleaned and chopped
- 2 tablespoons drained capers
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 4 -6 pita breads, split open at one edge
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
Recipe
- 1 in a skillet, cook onion and beef over medium high until beef is crumbly and brown.
- 2 drain off excess fat. stir in garlic, mushrooms and spinach and cook, stirring frequently, until spinach is tender, 3-4 minutes.
- 3 stir in capers, salt and pepper. spoon mixture into pita breads and top with tomato and yogurt.
