Bean And Meat Chili

Total Time: 8 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 8 hrs

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups 13 bean soup mix
  • 2 lbs beef (frozen is fine) or 2 lbs chicken (frozen is fine) or 2 lbs lamb, roughly chopped (frozen is fine)
  • 4 roma tomatoes, diced
  • 2 green bell peppers, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon beef bouillon (better than bouillon brand)
  • 1/4 cup flour (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 place beans in a bowl and cover with water, let soak overnight in the fridge.
  • 2 in the morning, combine all ingredients except flour in a crockpot.
  • 3 cover with water.
  • 4 set on low for 8 hours or high for 6 hours.
  • 5 mix flour with water and pour into the pot about an hour before done if you'd like a thicker chili.
  • 6 for gluten-free, please omit the thickening step.
